Juice for health and weight loss?
Some dietary proposals are based on fasting, where the only fruit juice or vegetable is allowed. This should be a healthy way to lose weight, cleanse the colon and pour out the liver. But it misses the fact that the products are made in juicer, and not by grinding and chewing in the mouth, causing digestive problems for the body.
Chewing process is very important
For now, let’s put aside the amount of fresh vegetables and fruits used, which we can not eat in its original form. I want to focus on the fact that they are entering our bodies in liquid form, without chewing.
The initial chewing process is crucial, because during this stage every meal we eat mixes with saliva and enzymes in it. This is how a sense is identified, and signals are sent to the brain and digestive system that describe what has entered our body and what to prepare to handle it. Proper biochemical systems begin to work, involving enzymes and juices and preparing many organs to process what we want to swallow.
Vegetable and fruit juices are ready to use through this series of interconnected events, which causes indigestion. It should also be added that the juice production process damages the fiber and vitamins fruits due to oxidation. Consequently, we drink colored fructose water – which is not a good sign for our health.
Fruit is a source of many vitamins and minerals as well as fiber, making it a beneficial choice for healthy people when eaten in a moderate amount. However, more benefits can be obtained from limiting consumption, because the fruit also contains fructose. This simple sugar is metabolized into the form of fat in the liver, and too much is associated with adverse metabolic and endocrine effects.
Drinking fruit juice every day increases the likelihood of diabetes by 21%
Research published in the UK journal BMJ shows that eating 2 servings or more each week of fruits such as blueberries, grapes, raisins, plums, apples and pears, can significantly lower the risk of type 2 diabetes by 23%.
Conversely, drinking fruit juice every day has the opposite effect, increasing the likelihood of diabetes by 21%!
Mary Enig, one of the world’s foremost nutritional experts, stated:
“Those who claim that fasting on juice can cleanse the body have no basic understanding of biochemistry. Elimination of toxins from the body is a continuous process involving various enzyme systems that are largely supported by nutrients from animal products. In fact, one of the best ways to help cleanse the body is by consuming a lot of bone broth, which provides the liver with certain amino acids involved in the process of cleaning the metabolic residue…….. Doubtful juice cleaners have the same negative effects as low-fat or low-calorie diets: they cause low blood sugar and nutritional deficiencies that are usually supplied by animal and fat proteins. Even if this fasting includes fat in the form of coconut oil, the body interprets the existence of this juice as a form of hunger, slowing the metabolism and… Of course add weight so fast is stopped. “
However, nothing will fix the damage better or draw a better logical conclusion than moments of hunger and fatigue than the body. The human body does not ignore small but high-volume signals that it receives – after all, she is trained by Mother Nature herself.
