How to Stay in Shape During Holidays

People want to know the secret of fitness for holidays. Holidays should not be a nightmare because you can meet your family. However, the food, the weather, and the lack of your usual gym might be the reason why many people lose it during holidays. Getting out of shape would later be another nightmare for sure. Here, we have some tips for you to
stay in shape, eat healthy yet be happy during holidays.

What about Workout?

What things did come to your mind when you hear the word “exercise”? Many people always link exercise with a series of activities that torture themselves for hours. However, it is not supposed to be like that. We can still do cool things for a workout without torturing anyone. On the other hand, exercises can be done anywhere even if you are on holiday or traveling. If you cannot find your favorite gym, you may start your day with walking tours, hiking, or riding a bike.
It would be such a fun activity when you are on holiday. On the other hand, you can always do some other exercises like backpack lifts, reverse crunches, lunges, push-ups, and bodyweight squats.

What to Eat

Even if you are on holiday does not mean that you can skip your diet. You still need to manage your diet to stay in shape. Diet is 75 percent of the battle. It is important to fill your tummy with meats (from animals with four legs), fowls, fish (as well as clams, mussels, crabs, lobsters, shrimps, and other creatures from the water), eggs, dark leafy veggies, natural oils, fruits, nuts, tubers, and bacon.
When you eat, make sure it consists of one protein source and at least one veggie along with nuts and fruits. Grains and dairy products are fine but make sure you eat them in minimal amount. Many travelers would eat beans or pasta or rice. Of course, those options are cheaper but those contain carbs and no protein. Even if you eat bad meals, you better not eat two of them in a row. Moderation is the key while you also balance the fitness for holidays.

Nutrition Strategy while Traveling

Real food is the only thing you should eat especially during the holiday when you have all the freedom in the world. Make sure your meal consists of veggies, protein, nuts, and fruits. Carbs like potatoes, sweet potatoes, rice, and beans are fine but moderation is the key.
Any processed food and meals should be avoided at all. And as we have said earlier, never eat two bad meals in a row to stay in shape.

Conclusion

The holidays should be fun. If you are traveling, everything you do should be fun and make you happy. Walking is part of exercise too and it should be part of your life, on the other hand. Strength exercises are important at least once a week and only eat real food. Exercises are fun and this is how you stay in shape with fitness for holidays.
